Convert an international grade with the Modified Bavarian Formula and your own best and passing grades.
Enter the best achievable grade, lowest passing grade and your achieved grade in the original system. Both higher-is-better and lower-is-better scales are supported.
Formula and methodology
German grade = 1 + 3 x (best - achieved) / (best - lowest passing).
The calculation breakdown lists what was counted and which rules were applied. Data-backed results identify their source and version; changing inputs clears a previous result so it cannot be mistaken for a new calculation.
Worked example
For best 100, lowest pass 40 and achieved 80: 1 + 3 x (100 - 80)/(100 - 40) = 2.00.
Assumptions and limitations
The result is non-binding orientation. Both higher-is-better and lower-is-better original scales are supported; the receiving institution decides its accepted conversion.
Check the result's method and linked source. A practice profile or planning estimate should be interpreted within its stated assumptions.
