Math steps
  1. Internal % = 18.00 ÷ 20.00 × 100 = 90.00%
  2. External % = 62.00 ÷ 80.00 × 100 = 77.50%
  3. Weighted = (90.00% × 40%) + (77.50% × 60%) = 82.50%

How the weighted percentage is calculated

Each block explains one part of how this works and how to read the result.

  1. Two percentages, blended by your college’s own weightage

Internal % and external % are each calculated from your marks and maximum. The final result blends them using the weightage your own college publishes (commonly 40:60 or 25:75, but this varies — check your own scheme of examination rather than assuming). We never assert a universal weightage; you enter yours.

Frequently asked questions

What weightage should I use?

Check your college’s scheme of examination or ask your department — weightage varies by institution and even by subject. This tool does not assume one for you.

Does this apply to every subject?

Only where your course uses a two-part internal+external split. Purely-external or purely-internal subjects don’t need this tool.

Can weightage be something other than whole numbers like 40/60?

Yes — enter any split that sums to 100, e.g. 30/70 or 50/50.

Is this the same as CGPA conversion?

No — this gives a per-subject percentage from two mark components. Use the CGPA to Percentage Calculator separately for grade-point conversion.
