Akka Mahadevi Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Bidar, founded in 1971 is an affiliated college situated at Bidar district of Karnataka state. The women’s institution has been way ahead in providing education to female students with a history of more than five decades. The college occupies a small area of five acres, thus ensuring that the environment promotes all forms of growth, but particularly academic.

Currently, the college has a student enrolment of 917 students and a faculty strength of 16; thus, the college has a desirable student-teacher ratio in order to achieve quality education. Akka Mahadevi Mahila Mahavidyalaya has a set of facilities which is intended to facilitate and improve the learning-teaching process as well as the personal development of students.

Akka Mahadevi Mahila Mahavidyalaya is affiliated with Karnataka State Akkamahadevi Women's University, Vijayapura . A research library is set as a centre of knowledge to support students' learning and scholarly endeavours. It accommodates department-specific laboratories for learning by practical and the acquisition of practical experiences.

An auditorium caters for events and seminars among many other things, helping in the creation of a lively student community. To cater for the consolidation break or break, a cafeteria is availed to both the staff and students. The college also has good provisions in this area with fine IT facilities and wireless internet across the college.

Sports facilities assist students in encouraging their fitness level and (team) spirit. Furthermore, the college has current links with its graduates by having an alumni Association through which students have strong support of one another. Akka Mahadevi Mahila Mahavidyalaya offers three full-time undergraduate programmes .

There are commonly distinguished three types of a bachelor’s degree: Bachelor of Arts ( BA ), Bachelor of Commerce (B. Com) , and Bachelor of Science (B. Sc) . All of these programmes take three years to complete, and once they finish, the graduates are equipped with the knowledge in their fields.
