Began in the year 1999, Bhongir College of Education is one of the popular teacher training colleges in Bhongir, Telangana. This affiliated college, approved by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), is providing qualitative education in a calm environment. Situated over a land area of 1. 1 acres, the college successfully maintains a concentrated environment for education.

It had a total admission of 197 students and 16 faculty, thus creating a good student-teacher ratio, facilitating every child. It is also a co-educational college, which makes it easy to recruit young ladies into the college of education. In this regard, the institute has a register of various modern facilities that can facilitate its academic activities.

The school library is well equipped with books on different subjects of instruction in order to function as the source of knowledge. The college has five large teaching laboratories for mathematics, science, psychology, social studies and educational technology which adequately prepare skills in trainee teachers.

Concerning the physical development of the campus, there are sports facilities, a gym and a hall for events such as seminars. This health centre ensures that the college offers first aid facilities as part of the promotion of student health. Due to the computerisation, the institute has very good computer networking and has a Wi-Fi-enabled campus.

Other facilities include a staff and students’ canteen and sleeping accommodation for visiting faculty and students’ families. Bhongir College of Education, an affiliated college of Mahatma Gandhi University, Nalgonda , presently has only one primary course – Bachelor of Education ( B. Ed ).

This is a full-time course which takes two years to complete and its main focus is to produce professional and motivated teachers. The programme has a sanctioned intake capacity of one hundred seats to imply that the institute shall still be able to offer quality education to teachers while admitting a large number of education enthusiasts.

This has resulted in a focused approach whereby the college tailors its resources and experience to offering a broad and intensive teacher training experience. Bhongir College of Education follows the merit-based admission criterion of courses for admission on the basis of policies of the State Government, U. T. Administration and the affiliated University.

Probability students are admitted depending on their scores in the qualifying examination and/or entrance examination for the course. The college may also tap other selective admission methods as may be provided for in statutes current at the time.
