Government Law College, Sri Ganganagar

Government Law College, Sri Ganganagar was set up in the year 2005 at Sri Ganganagar, Rajasthan, and affiliated to Rajasthan University. This institution specializes in legal education, offering two full-time courses: LLB and LLM Self Finance. The college is spread on mere 2. 09916 acres of land; it has full enrolment of 352 and 7 faculty members.

Of importance is that it is a government-aided institution and therefore serves as an important source of legal education for the region. The Government Law College has several amenities that are intended to improve learning environment for its students.

The library plays an important role of a resource centre where students are able to get and borrow legal texts, journals and any other materials that may be of so much importance in their learning. It includes sports like volleyball, kabaddi, badminton, table tennis, chess, athletic, and carnivals-cum-cricket.

These sporting activities commonly held in December other than training the students on the importance of exercising also assist in developing discipline, unity, sportsmanship and moral standards. The peculiar training afforded by the college to its students is the Moot Court, which prepares its students for argumentation and legal practice.

Such activities are organised by the Legal Cell of the college like moot court competitions, legal literacy camp and extension lectures in which students get practical exposure in solving legal problems of real life situations. Government Law College, Sri Ganganagar has two main courses in the discipline of law. Both are Day programmes which are structured to offer a complete course in Law.

The programme Bachelor of Laws ( LLB ) takes three years to complete it’s an undergraduate level programme and Master of Laws (LLM) Self Finance is a postgraduate level programme of two years. Therefore with an approved student intake of 20 students, the nature of a LLM programme is necessary as a specialized postgraduate programme.

Ideally placed to foster such learning, these programmes are designed to afford the student a sound theoretical background in law as well as practical skills through facilities such as the Moot Court.
