Government Mamit College, Mizoram

Government Mamit College, Mizoram which was established in 1983 is located in Mamit, Mizoram. This school is located in a campus of 3. 11 acres and provides a number of degree programmes in its undergraduate level. This college takes a total of 140 students per session, and it has 25 faculty members which make education conducive for all parties involved.

The Government Mamit College has been accredited with the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) thus keeping the goal of quality education intact. There are seven courses in total Despite this, in the college there are two degrees where majority of the courses are in arts and humanities. The Government Mamit College has special amenities available for improving the education process of the students.

To its students interested in welfare instalment and health, the school provides a well-equipped gymnasium. A flip side of this institution is the library which remains a central to academic resources; it boasts of figures in excess of Fifty Thousand books and Periodicals across streams.

It also offers Internet facilities, reprographic services and e- resources through N-List in addition to library automation process going on regularly. Sports amenities meet the athletic hobbies of learners, whereas an effective information technology approach handles the culture of contemporary learning.

College canteen is extracted as one of the places within colleges for buying and selling of food items and beverages. Unfortunately there are medical facilities on campus though extra help can be provided from some district hospitals if need be. Female students from outside Mamit town can avail the Women’s Hostel where accommodation for 16 people in two-seater room is available.

Mentioned college is a government college and it provide total seven undergraduate programmes out of which all are full time. B. A. Honours is the major focus of the college, and it offers the degrees in Economics , Political Science, Mizo , Education, History and English . Also, the college has added a new programme the Bachelor of Science (B. Sc) programme in its portfolio.

As for the actual number of seat per course, it is difficult to determine but the total student admission capacity for all programmes is 140. On the information concerning the number of students who graduated in the latest year, information is still insufficient.

Admission to Government Mamit College is through the on the result of a student, so every student has the opportunity of studying the fields of their choice. CUET UG is the standard admission test that the college admit students based on, following the national testing system at the undergraduate level.

There is lack of information on scholarships, but the student is free to approach the college authority to seek more on the scholarship fund.
