Government Polytechnic College Kargil started in the year of 2005 is situated at Khurbathang Kargil Jammu and Kashmir. Approved with this All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), this technical institution provide Diploma in the different branches of engineering.

The college at present has a total student strength of 118 with a faculty of 5, the kind and texture of learning that the college facilitates is best suited to young engineers to be. It currently provides three, three-year, full time diploma courses in Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering and Electrical Engineering.

Physical facilities are well developed in the Government Polytechnic College for the achievement of the students’ academic and personal needs. A good stock library assigns knowledge centre where material for adequate study and research is stocked.
