Government Polytechnic Nirsa started its journey in 1958 and is a technical college situated at Mauza-Gopalganj, Jharkhand. This is an affiliated college, and it is recognised by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). The area of the college campus is spread over 8 acres. Currently, Government Polytechnic Nirsa courses are offered in three diploma programmes, each of three years’ duration.

The names of the diploma courses are mining engineering, civil engineering , and mechanical engineering. Each of these programmes has an approved enrolment capacity of 60 students and cumulatively offers 180 seats across all courses. Government Polytechnic Nirsa offers various facilities with the intention of supporting a resilient learning environment and the development of students.

Government Polytechnic Nirsa admission is based on merit and marks secured in previous academics. To take admission to the diploma course, students need to give the polytechnic entrance exam ( PECE ), which is conducted by JCECEB.
