Gurukul Teachers Training Centre, Purulia, was established in the year 2012 and is a co-educational institution for the growth of future teachers. This affiliated college works under the approval of the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). Having a compact campus of 1 acre, this institute offers two specialized courses about teacher education.

Gurukul Teachers Training Centre has a focused learning environment with a student enrolment of 187 and a faculty strength of 12. The facilities availed by the institute offer enriching experiences in education for the students. It has a well-stocked library with more than 3,000 books, a well-spaced reading room that accommodates 80 individuals.

A health center equipped with first-aid facilities and a gym caters to the health and well-being of the students. The sportsmen are offered facilities for both indoor and outdoor games. Others include a canteen, parking space, and laboratories to complement the dispensation of various academic activities on campus. IT infrastructure is available to keep students updated with technological advancement in education.

Gurukul Teachers Training Centre offers two full-time courses: Bachelor of Education and Diploma in Elementary Education; both are for two years. 100 Gurukul Teachers Training Centre admits students based on merit, considering the marks obtained in the qualifying examination and/or entrance examination. The institute follows admission policies proclaimed by the state government and the affiliated university. Additional requirements, if any, for the B. Ed. programme shall be followed as per the guidelines of the university. Whereas, in respect of the D. El. Ed.

programme, the norms regarding admission laid down by the State Government or UT administration shall be followed.
