Institute of Communication and Information Technology, Mokokchung

Originally known as ICIDS it is officially christened now as the Institute of Communication and Information Technology, Mokokchung (ICIT) is an educational institute, which is situated in Nagaland, India. ICIT was set up in the year 2003 and has been delivering technical education in the region for almost two decades.

This affiliated college as per the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) aims imparting a host of diploma courses for the nascent_need of IT & electronics professionals. ICIT currently has 40 enrollments and a strong faculty of 8 members, which allows the college to give careful individual attention to the academic success of its learners.

ICIT feels privileged to present a complete range of services for improving the quality of life of students. The institute offers neat and well equipped separate hostel accommodation for boys and girls; for those students who live in distant areas. Accommodation for faculty and staff are also provided on the campus so that they form the backbone of the near camp academic community.

This, soon to be ‘e-enabled’ library holds a reserve of materials the students can use to supplement their studies. Hoping to overcome outdated technique of learning and teaching, ICIT offers internet connection and Wi-Fi on its campus. For those coming from town the institute provides daily bus transport to and from the institute.

Students also can organize use of the special sports facilities and also have meal in the school canteen, facilities that foster balanced lifestyle and socialization. The programs in the institute focus on satisfying the needs brought about by the modern trends in the technology industry. Currently, ICIT has three full time diploma courses which spans for three years of learning.

Some of the diploma courses that are offered are Diploma in Computer Engineering , Diploma in Electronics and Communication Engineering as well as Diploma in Information Technology . Each course has an approved intake of 15 students to give enough focus and student practical experiences.

The overall enrollment capacity for all programmes is set at 45 in order to ensure that the institute offers proper emphasis on maintaining a reasonable student teacher ratio.
