Kaliachak Government Polytechnic, Malda, West Bengal is an affiliated college. The aim of starting the college is to provide quality technical education among the young minds. AICTE, New Delhi approved this college. It conducts three full-time diploma courses of three years duration. It is evident from the course offerings of the institute that they are highly devoted to technical education.

The course offerings are able to meet the increasing demands of skilled professionals in the various fields of engineering. Where as enrolment of student is 97 and the faculty strength is 12. The learning experience of the students gets further enhanced with several facilities within the college campus.

There is a well-stocked library that can be termed as knowledge hub, providing students with all kinds of educational materials. These institutes also possess the individual departmental laboratories so that the students can get practical exposure to their fields of learning.

Kaliachak Government Polytechnic also boasts of a very good IT infrastructure, which enables students to be familiar with the latest technological developments in their relevant courses. The Kaliachak Government Polytechnic offers very less courses under the Diploma stream but very highly concentrated ones, and all of them are full-time.

At present, it is running three diploma programmes, namely: Diploma in Computer Science and Engineering, Diploma in Information Technology , and Diploma in Mechanical Engineering. All these programmes have a permitted student intake of 60, meaning that all the classes added together would amount to a total of 180 students.

The intake is relatively small so that there is a more personalised experience during learning and closer interaction between the faculty and the students. These streams are oriented toward the requirement of highly skilled technicians and engineers in areas that hold significant concerns for India's technological and industrial growth.
