Kaliachak Sultana College of Education, Malda

Kaliachak Sultana College of Education, Malda, was established in 2012 as a co-education college affiliated to the University of West Bengal, India. An approved affiliated college, it is specially tailored to emphasise quality teacher education as per the NCTE norms. It has its 1-acre campus with an enrolment of 300 students and 18 faculty members.

At the centre of the campus lies a well-equipped library, well-stocked with a large number of textbooks, reference books, journals, and periodicals. The Internet is made accessible to the students for their research. Similar emphasis is given to the physical health of the students via separate boys' and girls' hostels, a gym, and sports facilities available on the campus.

It has well-built, modern IT infrastructure and department-specific laboratories for the academic pursuit. Other facilities include a health centre for first-aid treatment, a canteen, an auditorium for events and seminars, and guest rooms for visiting faculty and family members. There are two full-time courses covered by Kaliachak Sultana College of Education. B. Ed course and D. El. Ed.

The college will have to abide by all state government policies, which are to be followed by the affiliated university. The B. Ed. course will be selected based on academic performance and also on such other additional selection processes as may be prescribed by the university for the time being. The graduates willing to join the D. El. Ed.

course will be selected based on merit, followed by implementing policy by state government or UT administration.
