Founded in 2006, Kamala Devi Sohan Raj Singhvi Jain College of Education is one of the trendier institutions for teachers' training in Kolkata, West Bengal. Approved by NCTE, it is an affiliated college that imparts education to future teachers. This compact co-educational institution offers two specialised degree courses in education within a compact 8-acre campus.

This institution has a student enrolment of 200 with a faculty strength of 25, thus ensuring a focused learning environment. The facilities provided in the college aim at enriching the learning environment of the students. The library is fully equipped with over 3,000 books and journals. It provides facilities for a reading room and a lending system.

In the near future, it shall also back up the modern teaching methods with its IT structure. The classrooms are 800 square feet each fully air-conditioned with green boards to accommodate more than fifty students per section.

The Kamala Devi Sohan Raj Singhvi Jain College of Education has well-maintained subject-based laboratories, like Physics, Chemistry, Social Science, Fine Arts-cum-Work Education, Life Science, and Mathematics-cum-Psychology Labs, to impart practical training.

Other facilities provided to the students include canteen, sports, event seminar auditorium, and health service through in-campus first-aid backed by the nearby Jain Hospital Howrah. The college is running two regular courses on a full-time basis: Bachelor of Education, B. Ed. , and Diploma in Elementary Education, D. El. Ed. The duration of both courses is the same—two years.

The admissions to the D. El. Ed program are made in accordance with the policies of the State Government or UT Administration in force from time to time, laying emphasis on merit based on marks obtained in the Qualifying Examinations or through Entrance Test.
