Khargram College Education, Murshidabad

Khargram College of Education, Murshidabad was established in the year 2016. It is a co-educational college and is located right at the heart of West Bengal. The affiliated college has been approved by the National Council for Teacher Education and strictly focuses on programs in the field of teacher education.

The compact campus of 1-acre area houses an enrollment number of 359 students and a faculty strength of 31 committed educators. Khargram College Education runs two full-time courses at the undergraduate level to facilitate the aspiring teachers of the locality. The Khargram College of Education has made infrastructural arrangements to enrich the learning environment for its students.

It possesses a well-equipped library that acts as a knowledge hub, hence providing study materials to the students. Similarly, modern laboratories such as Physics and Chemistry Labs have been provided within the campus premises for practical learning by the students. Its information technology infrastructure is impressive.

Its computer laboratory has 70 high-end systems, which are well-maintained-a critical aspect reflecting commitment to the integration of technology in teaching. Other facilities within the campus include a parking facility, cafeteria, auditorium for different programs and seminars, sports facility for the sports enthusiasts, health centre for students with first-aid services in order to keep them healthy.

The institution also provides separate hostels for boys and girls within the campus so that outsiders coming from far-flung areas may find it easy to live and pursue their studies. The following two undergraduate programs relating to Education are run by Khargram College Education: B. Ed and D. El. Ed. Both of the programs are of two-year duration, running on a full-time basis.

Approved intake for the college in both programs is the same; thus, it has 200 seats for both courses put together. These courses were being offered so that the career goals for the students would turn out to be successful in order to step into teaching as a profession, and the skills and knowledge acquired will be dispersive in nature for teaching as a profession. 100 Admission to Khargharom College Education is based on merit by marks obtained in the Qualifying Examination and/or Entrance Examinations. The College follows the policies framed for admission by the State Government and the affiliated University. However, in respect of admission to B.

Ed course, the candidates are selected in order of merit in the qualifying examination or through a selection process duly constituted as per guidelines of State Government/University. In case of D. El. Ed the admission is made on the basis of merit in the qualifying examination or entrance examination as prescribed by the State Govt. from time to time.
