Mankachar College was established in 1971 as a rural affiliated college at Mankachar, Dhubri, Assam. This institution of higher education was built on a campus area of 3 acres and has various undergraduate programmes running in arts and sciences.

Mankachar College has been aided by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council, NAAC, and since its inception, it has served the cause of education in this backward region for a period spanning over five decades.
