Mass Education Teachers Training Institute is an independent institution designed to train future teachers, which is situated in South 24 Parganas, West Bengal. An equipped library comes out as the storehouse of knowledge, while practical department laboratories come out as the practice centres. It has separate hostels for boys and girls to provide the outstation students a comfortable living. Mass Education Teachers Training Institute provides two full-time courses in the education field. The B. Ed programme in Tamil Nadu, started in 2006-07, has a sanctioned intake of 100 students for preparing secondary school teachers. Fifty students are admitted to the Diploma in Elementary Education (D. El.

Ed) course, which is for those who wish to teach at the primary stage. Both programmes are two years’ full-time and cover a broad range of courses in a methodology and theories of education. The total number of students enrolled with the institute is 150 students, and the institute maintains controlled class sizes to provide quality education.

These programmes are policy-based to ensure that students are prepared with adequate skills and knowledge to fit the teaching profession.
