Mathabhanga Government Polytechnic, Cooch Behar

Mathabhanga Government Polytechnic, established in 2019, is a relatively new technical institution located in Cooch Behar, West Bengal. Situated at Sitai More, this government-owned polytechnic is an affiliated college approved by the All India Council for Technical Education.

The institute offers three full-time diploma courses, each of three years' duration, catering to students interested in pursuing technical education in Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Tele-Communication Engineering, and Packaging Technology. All facilities are available in the polytechnic, which helps in developing students both academically and personally.

The library acts as an ideal resource center, stocking wide ranges of technical literature and reference books. In support of theoretical studies, the institute has established departmental laboratories that help equip students with practical experience and skills in their related fields.

The campus also has sports facilities for those who love sports, which in a way will be very essential in maintaining a healthy balance between the academic life and their physical health. There is also a cafeteria that can cater to students and staff alike, hence providing a platform that enhances brotherhood in the campus. Mathabhanga Government Polytechnic concentrates its technical programs at the diploma level.

The Institute currently offers three full-time diploma courses: Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Diploma in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering , and Diploma in Packaging Technology. All these programs have a sanctioned intake of 60 seats each, thereby totaling an overall intake capacity of 180 for all its courses.

This small number of programmes enables the Institute to focus all its resources and talents in imparting quality technical education in respective fields.
