Nalanda College of Education, Devanahalli

Nalanda College of Education was started in the year 2004 and is an affiliated college functioning in Devanahalli, Karnataka. It is a co-educational college recognised by NCTE for teacher education alone. Located in a small plot of 2 acres of land, this college at present has a total strength of 198 students and a total number of faculty members of 12.

Nalanda College of Education currently offers only one course, which produces good-quality educational personnel to teach in schools. Nagarjuna College of Management Studies (NCMS), established in 2015, is a private institution located in Chikkaballapur, Karnataka. It is affiliated with Bengaluru North University and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

Nalanda College of Education has available opportunities to improve learning to facilitate the learning of the students. The college is equipped with adequate facilities to be used in the sporting activities by the sporting hunting enthusiasts, while the auditorium is useful in hosting different events, seminars, among others.

The academic courses are supported with reference materials available in the library, as well as learning through practice in the departmental laboratories. A health center with first aid facilities is necessary for the students, and the school has excellent information technology facilities for modern needs. The college also offers transport services for the students and the staff to help tase transport.

Equipped classrooms give the students and teachers a comfortable setting for learning as well as social relations. Nalanda College of Education currently offers one full-time course. It is quite evident from the above work plan that institutions are implementing the Bachelor of Education (B. Ed) programme. This two-year programme has an approved annual student intake of 50 students.

The BEd course is structured to provide prospective teachers with the skills, equipment, and knowledge they would require in the field. The process of admission of students in Nalanda College of Education is controlled by the state government, UT administration, a nd the affiliated university norms.

They are mostly competitive, using previous academic performance in the qualifying examination and/or entrance examination. The college may also use other methods of staffing as discussed by the existing policies. As for the dates and deadlines for the application process and, probably, for the entrance tests, to be passed by the candidate for the B.
