NIFT Kannur Scholarships There are two scholarships provided by the institute- ‘SARTHAK NIFT Financial Assistance Scheme’ and ‘UDAAN- NIFT Scholarship Scheme for Foreign Studies’. SARTHAK enables financial assistance to meritorious, needy and deserving students, belonging to the economically weaker sections of society.
UDAAN provides financial assistance to meritorious students belonging to economically weaker sections, to enable them to avail the scope of foreign studies as available in NIFT with collaborating partner institutions.
Eligibility criteria for NIFT Kannur Scholarships application The students who fulfil the following criteria may apply for the financial assistance under the SARTHAK scheme- Undergraduate and Postgraduate students of the regular programme of NIFT The students must fall within the parental income slab mentioned in the notification All the eligible first-year students may apply irrespective of their ranks and marks in the entrance exam A postgraduate student's eligibility will only be on the satisfaction of the Screening Committee if she/he is not able to provide collateral for availing the bank loan and his / her parental income falls within the prescribe income slabs For the continuation of financial assistance to the students in 2nd, 3rd and 4th year of undergraduate level and 2nd year of postgraduate level, minimum average 6.
00 SGPA in the last two consecutive semesters will be a necessary condition.
The students will be required to submit their application for continuation of financial assistance in the next year along with all the documents in the beginning of the semester The students getting any other financial assistance/reimbursement towards expenditure on education from any other source viz Central / State Government / PSU / Trusts / private persons etc shall not be eligible to apply for the financial assistance under this scheme.
The students who fulfil the following criteria may apply for financial assistance under the UDAAN scheme- Undergraduate students from semester 4 to semester 7 and postgraduate students reading in semester 2 and semester 3 would be eligible.
Minimum academic performance required to be eligible for this scheme will be as per the norms specified by the I& DL for the respective Universities, in the last two consecutive semesters. The student should not have failed in any semester in the previous years of study in NIFT and must have cleared all the subjects of the previous semesters A processing fee of Rs.
2000/- will have to be submitted by the student along with the application forms. In case the student is granted the UDAAN Scholarship, the NIFT tuition fee will have to be borne by the student himself/herself.
