Nowgong Law College, Nagaon

Nowgong Law College was established in 1970 and is a well-known legal education college situated in Nagaon, Assam. This college for both boys and girls is recognised by the Gauhati University and recognised with the Bar Councils of India, so it also maintains a quality standard.

The college is providing three specific law courses, through which it provides two degree programmes for the students who want to join the legal profession. Nowgong Law College enrols a total of 368 students and has a faculty of 16. The college makes a clear declaration of a legal education by offering the following programmes: the integrated B. A. , LL. B. programme and the B. A. , LL. B. programme.

Nowgong Law College has several amenities to complement the learning needs of its students. The college boasts a computer laboratory that operates on broadband internet connections in compliance with today’s development in the legal sector. The college offers six courses in law: BA LLB, LLB, and LLB Hons.

The integrated BA LLB programme offered is a five-year course with an enrolment capacity of 60 students, and the traditional LLB is a three-year programme with a capacity of 60 students. Another three-year programme is the LLB (Hons). All of the courses across the curriculum were specifically developed in order to give the student broad legal training appropriate for different positions within the legal system.

The total number of students offered at the college level is 368. This is in respect of the desire of the college to ensure it intakes a reasonable number of students to enable it to maintain a student/faculty ratio that is appropriate for teaching.
