People's College, Mokokchung

People’s College, Mokokchung is an affiliated college which was set up in 1984 in Kumlong Ward, Mokokchung, Nagaland. This university is a small-scale university with 2 acres and offers its students a small-scale learning atmosphere. The total intake includes 111 students, and the faculty has 14 members, which makes the college student-friendly and provides quality education.

Currently, the People’s College provides six undergraduate courses all under the BA programme with a variety of humanities specialisations. The college is affiliated with Nagaland University and offers various undergraduate programmes, primarily in the humanities and social sciences. People’s College, interested in bringing a variety of better learning facilities to cater for its students.

The library is notable structurally, as well as with regard to the reading materials it contains: prescribed books, journals, and daily newspapers, both local and national. It also provides internet services, which are provided under the NMEICT project by the Ministry of Human Resources & Development, Government of India, enabling computerised learning and educational research.

To complement the drinks and snacks for breakfast, lunch, and tea, a canteen is open from morning to evening, to cater for students and staff. The college also has an Auditorium, which provides a centre for several activities. Itt acts as a place for conducting seminars, and plays a significant role in enhancing the college's social life.

Moreover, People’s College also encourages an alumni association that aims to help alumni of the school and current students make connections. People’s College, Mokokchung, confines its undergraduate programmes to the purely arts domain and offers a limited list of them. The college offers six full-timers , including BA General and five honours – English, Education, Economics , History and Political Science .

Each of these programmes is planned to last for a duration of three years, and at the end of each programme, students can gain deep knowledge in their chosen subject. In the case of People’s College Mokokchung, the admission process is aimed to be very simple and easily understandable for the students.
