Pragathi College of Education, Chintamani

Pragathi College of Education Chintamani established in the year 2005 is an affiliated college situated at Chintamani Karnataka. This institution being accorded accreditation by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), is focused on teacher education. The college is located in a confined area of 1. 5 acres; however, it provides an academic niche for anyone who wants to study to become a teacher.

Presently, Pragathi College of Education has 99 students and 9 faculty members teaching them thus managing to uphold the necessary student teacher ratio. The college has various special amenities developed to facilitate the learning process of the learners.

The library has a good collection of management, computer application, biological science and general books and periodicals and daily newspapers for the effective pursuit of academic activities. Computer laboratory is one of the best equipped with newest hardware and software such as LAN systems, Windows NT servers, Internet connection.

This modern IT infrastructure provides students of the university opportunities to mastering the highly technological environment of education. For physical development, the college has a basic play field for athletics and other outdoor activities, the college teams have however recorded success in different levels of tournaments.

At present Pragathi College of Education is providing only one course and that is Bachelor of Education (B. Ed) . This full time course which takes two years has an approved admission capacity of one hundred throughout the College as a testimony to the College’s determination to produce qualified teachers.

It established to produce professional teachers capable of handling classroom and other teaching responsibilities so that they will perform well in their chosen field of specialization. This college follows several affirmative admission policies or norms or standards such as marks secured in the qualifying examination as well as in the entrance examination.

Like other colleges in the country the college also follows the admission policy framed by the state government, UT administration and the affiliated university. This helps in getting a good quality student that also comes with benefits of a fair and standard selection process.
