Rangamati Shikshan Ashram, Birbhum

Our second case is Rangamati Shikshan Ashram, Birbhum, which was founded in 2016 in Banior, West Bengal. This teacher training institute affiliated to the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) provide two courses in education. Depending on the campus area that measures only 0. 99 acres, the institute admits a total of 200 students and has a staff strength of 15 professors.

The goal of Rangamati Shikshan Ashram is established to educate future teachers, with the available courses B. Ed and D. El. Ed programmes to help the region create a pool of professional teachers. Rangamati Shikshan Ashram boasts of a verity of learning amenities that would in turn improve the standard of education of the students.

In addition, it has separate hostels for boys and girls for the convenience of out station students who could otherwise find it difficult to get accommodation. A school library acts as information centre of the school and efficient departmental laboratory provide practical training. The college also own and operates a canteen, a health centre with first aid facilities, and playing fields for the students needs.

Contemporary needs of education are met with an advanced IT format, as well as a guesthouse for the transport of faculties and family members. Rangamati Shikshan Ashram teaches two complete courses which every student must cover in two years. In total, there are two courses – Bachelor of Education (B. Ed) and Diploma in Elementary Education (D. El.

Ed) which have a total of 200 seats, where 100 seats are for each course. They are aimed at preparing students with intents to teach in schools or other institution with the competence to undertake their duties. A specific emphasis of the institute is professional development of trainers, its endeavors are essential to the educational system in West Bengal and the neighboring regions.

The admissions to this institution depends on the marks achieved by the student in the qualifying examinations and/or test. Admission to the institute is conducted according to the policies set by the state government of West Bengal the affiliated university.

Students are selected on merit with academic performance being used to shortlist some students, and other tests implemented depending on the available guidelines.
