Ratan Sen Degree College, Bansi was established in 1968, an affiliated college and belongs to Siddharthnagar in the state of Uttar Pradesh. More than five decades have passed since it has satisfied all sorts of educational requirements of the region through a wide range of undergraduate as well as post-graduate courses that it offers; it spreads over 9 acres.
It has a student strength of 1,712 and faculty strength of 13 students. So, it is well capable enough to provide proper attention and quality to the students. The well-designed library serves as a knowledge base and provides modern resources and bibliographies in order to help the students in their various academic activities.
To the sports-orientation and fitness-prone students, the college has sports facilities and a gym that work for strengthening both physical fitness and intellectual acumen. The Ratan Sen Degree College also boasts of an auditorium for events and seminars, thus providing a dynamic culture environment. IT infrastructure is given due importance, keeping all the students updated with all the technological advancement.
Ratan Sen Degree College has in total 7 courses which include both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching. Undergraduate courses - three year full-time degree in BA and B. Sc. Postgraduate level which comprises of two years duration for Master of Arts (MA) courses: Sociology , Ancient History, Urdu , and Geography , while in addition to that, it also provides a four-year-long B.
Ed degree for teaching purposes for the students who wish to become lecturers. All the courses are taken full time. This means that there would be full exposure to the subject field of interest. Admission at Ratan Sen Degree College, Bansi is fair and just. Most of the programmes have merit-based admission processes wherein admission is granted based on marks in the qualifying examination.
However, the case is relatively different in relation to the B. Ed program. As regards the policy followed by the State Government University, admission to B. Ed might also be determined through entrance test scores, other than the selection process carried along with the candidates' academic merit.
