Sadguru Swami Nithyananda Institute of Technology – SSNIT Co-educational College was established in the year 2010 and is located at Kasaragod, Kerala. This affiliated college builds up on a vast 26. 23 acres of campus area at Kushalnagar, Kanhangad. SSNIT provides three B. Tech courses in which students can major in computer science and technology, civil engineering and mechanical engineering.
The institute has a total strength of 169 students and 32 faculty members, thus maintaining a healthy student-faculty ratio. Engineering courses offered at the college reflect the college’s technically inclined focus, with the engineering courses being offered in flexible specialisations.
These include SSNIT boasting of various facilities that have been made available to give the students the best experiences and academic profiles. For the out-station students, the institute has built separate hostels for boys and girls to facilitate their stay while they are registered at the institute.
A school library is one more assurance that will provide students with a necessary source of information and a number of scholarly materials. A health care centre is also available on the college and amid the first aid services for the students’ health. To the extent of those who enjoy sporting activities, SSNIT houses various sporting facilities as part of recreational services.
Apart from that, IT facilities in the institute are remarkable and support the technological aptitude of the students according to the progress in their specialised areas of knowledge. Consequently, the academic environment at SSNIT is mainly one that is dominated by the delivery of engineering courses. Currently the institute has three full-time B. Tech programmes and all of them are of four years' duration.
Some of these programmes are B. Tech – Computer Science and Technology , B. Tech – Civil Engineering and B. Tech – Mechanical Engineering . Although the exact details of total capacity for each course are missing, institute-wise total intake is as low as 169. This has made the student population relatively small, enabling students to be easily attended to and have close contact with members of the faculty.
