The School of Law and Legal Studies at DAV University, Jalandhar, is fairly new as a law school in the country of India. DAVUS is a constituent college located in occupying 72 acre of land at Jalandhar, Punjab which was established in 2020. This institution is BCI recognised and aims at counseling, nurturing and producing competent legal talents.
As the school is growing and it is still in its developmental phase, nevertheless, the said school is gradually establishing its presence as a legal institution. The School of Law and Legal Studies has some of the best facilities available for use in today’s modern student environment.
The library is an important and essential element for any college and at our college it fulfils the purpose of a knowledge house of legal education and literature. Due to advancement in technology, the institution has put in place sound facility in information technology to enable the students to develop research skills convenient for academics.
One special attraction of the university is Moot Court facility which gives students an opportunity to put through the court proceedings and legal pleadings. The whole campus is networked and students and employees can always connect to the internet through Wi-Fi. Currently, the School of Law and Legal Studies offers one flagship programme, the BA LLB (Hons) course.
This is a five year full time programme in arts and law, in which students get acquainted with legal systems as well as their background. This course has an approved intakes of 120 students indicating the institution’s policy of keeping student-intake ratio to staff in reasonable limits.
Contrary to this, the admission procedure of the BA LLB (Hons) in the School of Law and Legal Studies, an affiliated college of RIMT University , is elaborate and just. There is no much information available regarding admission procedure but generally there is a combination of the entrance examination scores and the performance in 10+2 and sometimes they conduct interview too.
