Punjabi University Patiala has a renowned School of Management Studies which started in the year 1969 to build up future managers of the country. Sitting right at the centre of Patiala, Punja, this a school is one of the members of Punjabi University which has been delivering various management courses to suit the active nature of the business sectors.

The school has a total 24 dedicated professionals as its faculty to offer a sound learning atmosphere for the managerials. The institution provides seven courses all of which are linked to the MBA degree programmes with concern to type and mode of delivery. School of Management Studies boasts fully equipped facilities that complement the learning process of the students.

The focus of such centres is the library which boasts nearly 20,000 volumes on any area of Business Management. These resources are available for the entire semester, coupled with the numerous opportunities to access 2500 journals, 5 subscribed journals and daily newspapers. In addition, the library is privileged to have a stock of roughly one hundred and ninety-nine Ph. D. theses to support the scholars.

The school is technologically enabled with a modern air conditioned computer lab with the Internet connection and facilitated with 60 latest desktops, printer and scanner. This lab is used specifically by IT and computer related courses and provides students with practice in necessary technological competencies.

As a result, the School of Management Studies provides MBA programmes that are appealing to different career paths. It offers full time, part time and distance learning to try and meet all the needs of students as much as possible. A total of 400 students intake in the MBA class The flagship MBA programme is of 220 seats.

Each of the specialised MBA programme of MBA with INSEEC France, MBA Wilkes University and MBA Global Business has 40 seats. In terms of distance learning, the Tamil Nadu MBA Correspondence programme enrols 100 students.

The school also has specialisation which are MBA in Environment and Solid Waste Management and MBA in Hospital and Health Care Management with a total of 30 chance available for each of the specialisation in the field of management.
