Sheetla Shiksha Mahavidyalaya, Gwalior

Sheetla Shiksha Mahavidyalaya, the institution was started in the year 2005, is a co-educational college situated at Dabra, District Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh. This affiliated college is 1. 72 acre campus and it focuses on teacher education and it is accredited with NAAC. The institute introduced three full time courses in education approved by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE).

Sheetla Shiksha Mahavidyalaya has a total intake capacity of 56 students with a faculty of 16 members helping the potential teachers in focused learning. Infrastructural facilities in the college are diverse to cater for its academic purpose and for the extra-curricular activities of the students.

The colleges also boasts of having facilities that will support the achievement of its goals and objectives in line with its teaching and learning mandate. A school library has over fifty thousand books and periodicals and journals used to support students’ learning in all fields.

This has result to well-ventilated classes each of which can comfortably accommodate a hundred students with basic teaching aids to enhance learning environment. At physical level the college provides the children facility of team festivities in Kho-kho, Football, Cricket, Volleyball, Athletics, Badminton, Lawn Tennis, Chess etc.

An auditorium is used for many occasions, organizational activities and seminars to make the college atmosphere very active. Sheetla Shiksha Mahavidyalaya currently provides three full time faculty of education to meet the different stages of teachers’ education. Course offered by the institute comprises of D. El. Ed – Diploma in Elementary Education , B. Ed – Bachelor of Education, and M. Ed – Master of Education .

The total capacity for the approval for these courses is 200, where out of 50 seats for D. El. Ed, 100 for B. Ed, and 50 for M. Ed. These diverse programme offerings enable the students to complete a teacher education at the elementary, secondary or post graduate level. The admission procedure followed at Sheetla Shiksha Mahavidyalaya is different with regard to different courses offered. For the D. El.

Ed programme the admission is done through MP ONLINE COUNSELLING (SEAT ALLOTMENT). The admission procedure to B. Ed is done as per MP Higher Education and norms of NCTE prescribed. The same applies to admission in M. Ed as per the norms set down by the Higher Education and NCTE.
