Shree Lakshmi Narayan Ayurvedic College, situated in Amritsar, Punjab, was founded in the year of 1976. It is a co-educational college for providing education in Ayurvedic system of medicine under the synthesis of conventional knowledge and oratory proficiency. The college is located in a 6. 5 acres compound, and this allow a favourable environment for learning and research.
Since the total enrolment of the students is 328 and the faculty members are 23 in numbers, the institute primary focuses on quality education and student engagement. The college offers two courses : Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) and Diploma in Pharmacy Ayurveda, for those who want to pursue a carrier in Ayurveda field of medical science.
Shree Lakshmi Narayan Ayurvedic College has a number of resources available to make students’ learning more effective. Any academic resource will be incomplete without a library, stocked with multitude of books and reading materials related to Ayurveda and Modern Medicine, journals, magazines and newspapers.
The Ras Shastra department has pharmacy, manufacturing unit, analytical laboratory, and store house of raw herbs and prepared product with which allow the students to practice in the preparation of Ayurveda medicine. In order to fulfill the need of physical development of the students, the college has provided sporting amenities and an auditorium to for other co curricular activities.
The campus also comprises of separately built hostels for boys and girls along with a Mess Facilities for the out station students to stay comfortably. Shree Lakshmi Narayan Ayurvedic College offers two full-time courses: existing educational programmes namely the Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) and the Diploma in Pharmacy Ayurveda.
The BAMS programme takes six years and the approved number of student’s intake is 60 students per year. They are planned as a comprehensive course offering the necessary academic and practical preparation and professional training to effectively practice Ayurveda.
The total student intake capacity of the college is 328 and it has maintained the standard student intake capacity as it believes in proper student teacher ratio for better teaching learning process.
