St Xavier's College, Mahuadanr

St. Xavier’s college, Mahuadanr, was established in 2011 which is an affiliated college situated in Latehar, Jharkhand. Undergraduate programmes offered in this institution are quite diverse and this university is located in a large piece of land that occupies 24. 46 acres.

The Student intake and strength of faculty is 606 & 42 respectively and provides a right temperament for academic and other personality developments. The college teaches 16 courses in the six degree programmes with specialisations in Arts, Commerce and Science streams.

It is an accredited member of the National Assessment and Accreditation Council – NAAC, and seeks to offer quality education and development of the learner’s total personality. The college has a resource centre which operates as a library that stocks both local and national magazines, and an impressive array of books across disciplines.

These are a stack area, periodical and reference sections with a large reading hall which are open to student patronage. The facilities available include modern equipped laboratories in Physics, Chemistry and other science subjects in order to enhance practicals on what the students are taught.

The amenities include functional computer laboratory fitted with licensed packages and multimedia system that prepares the students technically in business world and exposes them to current technologies. To cater for the needs of the female students the college has put up a 220 maximum girls hostel with four beds in a room and single rooms with in-built washrooms.

The facility that the hostel offers also include special study time and students are allowed to make use of computers. There are some facilities like canteen, play ground, guest room, and health centre with first aid, and plenty of parking space available in the campus.

The institution offers 16 courses in various fields thus giving students a chance to study subjects that they desire by offering arts, commerce and Science programmes. The institution offers full time courses and those are B. A/B. Com/B. Sc, and Hons courses in B. Com Accountancy /Physics/Chemistry/ Botany/ Mathematics/ Zoology/ BA Economics /History/Political Science/ Geography/English/Hindi/ Kurukh.

This great doctrinal diversity enables students to choose their learning path according to major and side occupations, hobbies, and preferences. The college has a total student intake of 606 students which makes sure the student teacher ratio is achieved and any student gets personal attention.

Competition is an important factor in admission and all admission procedures are adopted with merit in mind, especially in St. Xavier’s College. For most courses, after this +2 board examination, candidates are short listed and interviewed. Such an approach enables the college to evaluate the academic performance of the applicants; as well as their personality in relation to the chosen programme.
