Sundarban B Ed College, Kakdwip

Sundarban B. Ed. College, Kakdwip, was affiliated with South 24 Parganas, West Bengal, and founded in the year 2015. It is a co-educational day college, approved by NCTE, and has specialisation in teacher training programmes. It has a compact 150-acre campus with a total student enrolment of 200 and a faculty strength of 14. Presently, Sundarban B. Ed. College offers two full-time degree courses: B. Ed. and D. El.

Ed. , providing opportunities for teacher aspirants at two different levels. The college is set out to ensure that the students will have a very conducive learning environment, meaning all types of facilities that may help growth at each and every level, be it academic or personal. One of these resources includes a well-stacked library to help students further their knowledge and research.

Other departmental laboratories are also made available to help students gain practical experience in their respective fields of study. Different sports facilities of the college encourage the institution in the direction of a well-rounded education through extracurricular activities and physical fitness.

An auditorium on campus will set the stage for events, seminars, and guest lectures that can ensure enrichment in academics. Additionally, a canteen, a health centre with first-aid facilities, and adequate parking space for faculty, staff, and students will be some other facility options in the interest of welfare for the students.

Other than that, the institutional setup is exemplary in terms of IT infrastructure to ensure that the students are exposed to state-of-the-art technologies and other resources in connection with their pursuits of learning. Sundarban B. Ed. College offers a total of two courses, all full-time-orientated, with the purpose of preparing students for a career in education.

These programmes cater to different levels of teacher training; hence this college provides an all-rounded approach to education studies. College shall be strictly based on merit with regards to the marks in the qualifying examination and/or entrance examination. The said institute shall follow the admission policy as prescribed by the state government of West Bengal and the concerned affiliated university with regard to the admission in the B. Ed. programme. Similarly, in respect of admission in the D. El. Ed.

programme, the same mode of admission as prescribed by the State Government or UT Administration should be followed.
