It's an affiliated institution. It is an independent and co-educational institution that has been imparting professional training to teacher trainees. The NCTE-approved college imparts training to admitted trainees only in general academic education. Presently, it has a campus area of 0. 94 acres, with an enrolment of 175 students, and 24 faculty members.

A galaxy of facilities exists within the college, each one adding to the learning experience of the students. The library is a much-felt resource, with a collection of 6,331 books, comprised of 630 titles for the B. Ed. and 182 titles for D. El. Ed. programs.

The presence of reference books, periodicals, together with 9 journals, which provide ample knowledge, is also the school's part with the assistance of an acquired librarian. A campus is equipped with various modern facilities like sports, auditorium for events and seminars, well-equipped labs, and a health center with first-aid facilities. The IT infrastructure supports contemporary pedagogical styles.

Tehatta Sri Sri Krishnaray College of Education offers two full-time courses with a duration of two years each. The approved intake for the B. Ed. and D. El. Ed. programmes is 50 each, thus having a total intake of 100 students. These courses are oriented towards grooming students into teachers at different levels of schooling.

This focused delivery will enable the institution to concentrate its efforts on two programs, delivering optimum levels of teacher training to prepare them through the institution for the future tasks in the educational sector.

Admissions in Tehatta Sri Sri Krishnaray College of Education, an affiliated college of Baba Saheb Ambedkar Education University, Kolkata , for all courses are purely on merit after calculating the marks obtained in the previous qualifying examination and entrance examination. The college follows the policies of the state government of West Bengal and the affiliated university regarding admission.

Extra criteria may be followed for the admission of the candidate in the B. Ed course as prescribed by the University. Similarly, the D. El. Ed conforms to policies set by the state government in line with admitting students.
