Uluberia Government Polytechnic, Howrah, West Bengal, is one of the recently established institutes. This affiliated college under All India Council for Technical Education offers engineering diploma courses with affiliation. Situated at Mouza-Barberia, Boalia, Uluberia this polytechnic gives technical education to budding engineers.

The institute has a crystal clear vision to impart quality education in its three identified specialised fields. Within the polytechnic, the students are also provided with many facilities to improve learning environments.

The Uluberia Government Polytechnic library is still in the developing stage and currently has 99 titles and 754 volumes of books for first-year courses; it will gradually develop its collection for second and third-year students. It subscribes to two national-level journals, and a proposal for more over the coming years has been prepared accordingly.

The institute maintains well-equipped, department-based laboratories for hands-on training of the students. Besides these, the academic activities are also supplemented by an excellent IT infrastructure, which keeps the students updated with changing technologies. Further, the college has a canteen facility on campus for the comfort and convenience of staff and students.

This is an Affiliated College of West Bengal State Council of Technical Education, Kolkata. Presently, Uluberia Government Polytechnic is offering three full-time diploma courses; Chemical Engineering, Computer Science and Technology , and Mechanical Engineering, each lasting three years. These courses address most engineering fields and provide students with multiple career paths under engineering.

The total intake capacity of the institute in all courses is 180 students, while each programme has an equal intake capacity. Being a newly established institution, the polytechnic is yet to witness its maiden batch of graduates but is certainly creating a positive academic base for the students.
