Yeaqub Ali B Ed College, South 24 Parganas

Yeaqub Ali B. Ed. College is a co-educational institution located in South 24 Parganas West Bengal and was started in 2017. This affiliated college offers its teacher education programme accredited by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). Being a small college occupying a 2. 758 acre plot of land, the college offers only two programmes, specialised education courses to a total student admission of 322.

The faculty of the college is comprised of 31 committed teachers due to which the college has a favourable student to teacher ratio so that no student is neglected or not getting the quality education he or she deserves. Yeaqub Ali B. Ed. College is affiliated with Baba Saheb Ambedkar University , West Bengal.

The college offers various facilities whereby the experience of learning and development of students is improved. A library is one of the necessary bodies equipped with necessary compounds for effective leaning and academic performance. College offers two courses , Bachelors in Education and Diploma in Elementary Education . Both programmes take two years to complete and the approved capacity for admission is one hundred students per year and in aggregate two hundred seats per year. These courses are aimed at training professional teachers for contemporary teaching context, focusing on the synthesis of the theoretical and practical perspective.

Teacher education is among the specialisations of the college and hence, plays pivotal roles in training adequate teachers to meet the demands of the region. Yeaqub Ali B. Ed. College adapts merit-based admissions with reference to marks scored in the qualifying examination and/or entrance tests.

The college like other state colleges follows the admission policies laid down by the state government of west Bengal and the university affiliation. However, for the B. Ed. programme , to accommodate other admission procedures as per the state and university norms. Likewise the admission in D. El. Ed. is planned according to merit, following the rules and regulations of the respective state Govt.
