College of Teacher Education PGT, Shillong

The PGT or Post Graduate in Teacher Education, Shillong is also referred to as PGT Shillong, is an established college for teachers training. This affiliated college was set up in 1964, and is situated in Laitumkhrah, Shillong, Meghalaya. It is affiliated to the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE).

Being a small private college, PGT Shillong occupies a small area of 1, 405 square meters creating a conducive learning atmosphere among its students. This home educated School provides several amenities for its learners to enable them achieve their various goals and objectives in life.

The option is available for more genders; male and female students can take advantage of the hostel facilities within the compound in order to get enhanced living and studying conditions.

The College of Teacher Education (PGT), Shillong, currently offers one primary course such programmes as the Bachelor of Education ( B. Ed ). This course is spread over two academic years and is meant to qualify students for teaching practices. The programme has an approved student capacity of 100 students well as the college policy of ensuring quality learning through adequate ratio of students to teachers.
