Don Bosco College of Teacher Education, Tura

Don Bosco College of Teacher Education situated at Tura was set up in 2005 and hence is a premier college in educating teachers in Meghalaya, India. A affiliated college, situated in Chandmari, Tura, this college focuses in carving out future teachers. Accredit by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), the institution emphasises on quality teacher training.

Currently, the college has been privileged to have students’ enrolment of 153 students and an able faculty with a composition of eleven members and this make the college produce a conducive environment that promotes student growth and academic success. Most of the units have been equipped with modern facilities that facilitate teaching of the students effectively.

The major part of academic resources is a library, equipped with the necessary educational literature for these same students. Those with physical interests have facilities for sports to ensure a well-balance between the body and the mind. Education at the Don Bosco College of Teacher Education is modern as evidenced by good IT facilities to enable students embrace new technological changes in education.

Essential laboratory facilities address the practical aspects of learning, and there is a modern auditorium for seminars and programmes designed for up to 250 people. Don Bosco College of Teacher Education, Tura, aims at offering quality education in teaching subject. The institution provides only one programme in education and this is the Bachelor of Education ( B. Ed ).

This is a two-year course that is taken at full-time basis and has been implanted to prepare students with all that they require to have a prosperous teaching profession. Don Bosco College of Teacher Education, Tura has designed its own admission policy, which is quite similar to the policies of the State Government and the affiliated University regarding merit basis.

The admission criterion considered regarding the prospective students is the qualifying examination, entrance examination, or any other test decided by the authorities.
