HKL College of Nursing, Ferozepur

HKL College of Nursing is a prime NBSE affiliated nursing college at Ferozepur, Punjab, which was founded in 1996. Founded in Guru Har Sahai, this affiliated college offers the INC approval, so the students receive proper education in the sphere of nursing. With a campus of only 3. 2 acres, HKL College of Nursing provides a variety of nursing courses to students who wish to take up nursing as a career.

Currently it has 296 students enrolled and 34 faculty members thus bringing student-teacher ratio into practice ideal for learning. It presently provides four nursing courses, of which are two degree courses and two diploma courses, to meet the educational demands of the institution in health care.

The college possesses a number of amenities that enable facilitate the learning process and personal development of the learners. A good library plays a central role and is resourceful for all nursing publication and other research information. The institution also cherishes practical learning which is evident by well equipped and maintained labs that are replicas of real world health care settings.

As a response to the requirements of the user group the college owns a cafeteria, sports complex, shuttles for students and employees who use public transport to get to college. The offered range of programmes by HKL College of Nursing consist of nursing courses and these are full time. The institution's academic portfolio includes four distinct programmes : programmes include B. Sc Nursing (4 years), Post Basic B.

Sc Nursing (2 years), General Nursing and Midwifery ( GNM ) 3 years and Auxiliary Nurse Midwifery( ANM ) 2 years. The total intake of students in all programmes is 190 and hence the college makes sure that every student gets personal attention and receives value added education.

The flagship programme offered by the college is BSc Nursing which has a total intake capacity of 50 students which lays the strong base for the nursing science. The Post Basic B. Sc Nursing course takes thirty students and is aimed at working nurses who wish to advance their education.

The GNM programme enrolment is ninety, and the ANM course is fifty making up the rest of the diploma courses in the college, which focuses on training better healthcare delivery agents. The college has been approved nursing standards by the Indian Nursing Council, this the college shows its concern in offering quality nursing education.
