Jayadev Institute of Social Sciences and Research (JISSR), the eldest one among the private institutes, started its journey in 1999 at Bhubaneswar of Odisha state. JISSR currently offers two full-time postgraduate programmes : This with reference to the following degree programmes; Master of Social Work (MSW) and MA in Rural Management . The MSW programme has an approved intake capacity of 60 admission seats and the MA in Rural Management programme has admission capacity of 40 admissions seats.

Each of the two courses is a two-year programme that sees students gain ample theoretical and practical experience in their areas of specialisation. It is for this reason that the institute has concentrated on these specialised areas in order to meet social and rural development objectives within the region.
