JUSS Nursing College, Gurdaspur

JUSS Nursing College was set up in the year 2009 and is an affiliated college situated at Gurdaspur, Punjab. This mixed-gender teaching university, recognised by the INC, provides specialised nursing training on its grounds of 5. 5 acres. JUSS Nursing College has a total student enrolment of 171 and faculty members of 37 hence the college is committed to producing professional nurses.

There are four nursing courses full-time in this college, two degree and two diploma to meet the nursing education needs. The college has enjoyed developing various infrastructural amenities that help improve the learning environment of learners. A spacious library is well stocked with the nursing and allied sciences books and Indian as well as western nursing journals for the students.

The college’s focus on technology is demonstrated by a recently developed and well-equipped computer laboratory in which the students are informed of the new technological innovations in health care industry. JUSS Nursing College has also set down different specialty of practical training like Nursing Foundation lab, Community Health Nursing Lab, Anatomy Lab, Maternal & Child Health Nursing Lab, Nutrition Lab.

They provide student with the necessary skills that they need in the future practice through the modern equipment used in these facilities. JUSS Nursing College currently offers four courses in nursing and they are all degree programmes, and the nursing courses are taken on full time basis. These are B. Sc Nursing (four years) and Post Basic B.

Sc Nursing (two years) courses, General Nursing and Midwifery ( GNM ) Courses – four-year and Auxiliary Nurse Midwifery ( ANM ) Courses – two-year. The total authorised admission for these courses is 150 students per year; B. Sc Nursing and ANM have 40 slots respectively; GNM has 50 & Post Basic B. Sc Nursing has 20 slots.
