Sant Baba Bhag Singh Institute of Nursing, Jalandhar started in 2007, is one of the leading nursing colleges situated in Village Khiala of Punjab. This is a co-educational institution which is also recognized college affiliated to the Indian Nursing Council (INC) which shows that this institute is conscious on offering quality education.

The institute has encompassing curriculum in nursing that has the four full-time courses under two degree levels. The institute has a small faculty strength that is composed of five members; however, it aims at giving the best education in the nursing profession. The environment of the institute comprises of numerous facilities meant to improve on the students learning activities.

The library is a knowledge centre where a vast line of books on nursing subjects, social sciences, and literature, national and international journals and magazines are available. The students are equally benefited through e-resources through the Health Sciences Network (HSUBNET) affiliated with Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot.

The college has it equipments which arise from a computer system with nearly fifty systems to encourage the students in efficient and effective computer application in nursing course. In order to provide practical sessions the institute has scattered departmental laboratories to obtain the industrial look.

The campus also provides sports needs for recreation and for the few indoor games thus covering the need for arts, sports, and games. In total there are four nursing courses offered in Sant Baba Bhag Singh Institute of Nursing and all these programs are full-time in mode. These courses are B. Sc Nursing (4 years), Post Basic B.

Sc Nursing (2 years), General Nursing and Midwifery (GN)”/ The Auxiliary Nurse Midwifery ( ANM ). Over all approved intake of the institute is 170 where in B. Sc Nursing-50, Post Basic B. Sc Nursing-30, GNM-60 and ANM-30. The entrance procedure at Sant Baba Bhag Singh Institute of Nursing also differs regarding the type of program. Admission to the B.

Sc Nursing is done once a year through PPMET Examination for Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot. Likewise, for the Post Basic B. Sc Nursing course, the admissions are also prepared on merit of the candidates appearing for the test conducted by the same university.
